The 2009 Michigan Conference on Affordable Housing was a success! The 2009 Michigan Conference on Affordable Housing took place June 1-3, 2009, at the Lansing Center. Materials from the Tax Credit Stacking session are available here.

Summer 2009 newsletter available! CEDAM's Summer 2009 Newsletter can now be viewed on-line. Our 2008 Annual Report is also now available.

CEDAM hosts 2009 Capital Day! On March 11th CEDAM hosted its 009 Capital Day. CEDAM provided information on key issues and set up meetings with legislators for attendees. A full agenda of the day's events is available.

Support Michigan's Housing & Community Development Fund on your tax return this year! Listen to an interview with Ken Bensen, leader of the Living in Michigan coalition, on suppoting the Fund.

CEDAM Statement on 2009 QAP. CEDAM presented written comment on behalf of it's members to MSHDA on the 2009 QAP on February 13, 2009. These comments are available for public viewing.

2009 CEDAM Membership. If you are currently a CEDAM member, you should be receiving your membership renewal form in the mail shortly. New in 2009: you can now join CEDAM or renew your membership on-line!

REDT Returns in 2010. CEDAM's signature training program, the Real Estate Development Training (REDT), will not be offered in 2010. CEDAM will be focusing it's resources this year on offering a variety of trainings that address other pertinent issues, including the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). Look for more information soon -- and for more information on the 2010 REDT later in 2009.

CEDAM to host Microenterprise Summit and Evaluation Webinar. CEDAM is pleased to be involved in two events in February 2009. The first, Microenterprise: Moving Michigan Forward, is a one day Summit on February 19 presenting providers/policymakers an overview of the state of microenterprise, highlighting innovations, and allowing feedback on future plans in Michigan. The second, Measuring Success in Community Development, is an on-line webinar taking place on February 20 which will discuss evaluation in a community development context. CEDAM Co-sponsors NSP Conference. On December 3, 2008, CEDAM partnered with the Michigan Community Development Association (MCDA), the Michigan Municipal League (MML), and others, on a day-long conference entitled Neighborhood Stabilization Program: How to Make it Work. The conference took place at the Lansing Center. More information is available on-line.

CEDAM/MSHDA Roundtable Notes Available. Notes from the July/August CEDAM/MSHDA Roundtables, held across the state, are available. View the notes, which include a summary of issues raised at the Roundtables and responses provided by MSHDA.

CEDAM Comprehensive Industry Report now available! Based on the data/information provided by our members this past Fall, CEDAM has just released our newest INDUSTRY REPORT. Entitled Vibrant Michigan Communities in Action, this exciting publication shares many statistics about our members and the wealth of investment they make across our state. Many different aspects of CED are highlighted through a series of case studies. If you would like to receive a copy of the report, please contact our office, or visit our publications page.

CEDAM has been involved with the formation of a new national association, the National Alliance of CED Associations (NACEDA). Visit NACEDA's new website for information this newly-formed group.

Support Michigan's Housing and Community Development Fund (MHCDF)! MHCDF is a program that will allow Michigan cities and communities to compete for, attract, and retain the brightest and best workers in the country. The program concentrates efforts in downtowns, neighborhoods, affordable housing and supportive housing. Please consider sending in a letter of support to your legislator -- a template letter is available. Please also visit and register at the MHCDF website, www.livinginmichigan.org!
